NEW NON-ALCOHOLIC SPIRIT BRAND WINS

CATERER AWARD FOLLOWING SUMMER 2021 LAUNCH …

ANON spirits, launched in June 2021 by Alfresco Drinks, combine natural botanicals and flavourings to create delicious non-alcoholic libations.

Bittersweet Aperitif, the first in a new range of alcohol-free spirits, and a take on the Italian liqueur Aperol, is great for summer spritzing, mixing and negroni-making. Having launched just six months ago, MD of Alfresco Drinks, Julian Ebbutt couldn’t be happier with the feedback and recognition it has already received:

“We had been closely following the growth in this sector for some time and felt confident that we could create a new range of drinks that could satisfy the growing desire of the consumer to reduce their alcohol intake. Launching as we did as the country was coming out of lockdown was of course not part of the plan and so we are delighted that our Aperitif is already being served in some of the best hotels in the UK. Interest from farm shops to stock the new range is building and sales direct to the consumer through our website and social media channels have exceeded expectations, so to win such a well-respected industry award, (having been shortlisted for New Drink Product of the Year in the Food Matters Live Awards 2021 and scooping a bronze in the International Wine and Spirit competition),  is a great ending to a year that, as for so many, has had its challenges.”

A refreshing, aromatic blend of orange, vermouth, wormwood, gentian and quassia extracts, it’s palate profile is complex and developed with hints of orange, citrus and herbs. Best served as part of a mocktail if wanting to go all out non-alcoholic, with lemonade, tonic or soda water (or even perhaps non-alcoholic prosecco (Noughty do a great one) - the Bittersweet can also be mixed with alcoholic accompaniments if you are simply wanting to reduce alcohol consumption rather than remove it altogether. Our pocket Recipe Booklet shows some of the different ways the Bittersweet and our latest libation, Spiced Cane, can be enjoyed.

ANON non-alcoholic spirits are on sale for a RRP of £20 for a 70cl bottle, and 20cl bottles - that have proved popular with direct sales to the consumer as stocking fillers, secret Santa gifts or for those that just want to give it a try - are also available for a RRP of £12.

ANON’s Spiced Cane is a non-alcoholic rum alternative that went on sale towards the end of November 2021. This one, as well as tasting great served with coke or in coffee, and even in puddings, is also great simply with ice! Providing a warming sensation with a spicy kick, with hints of cinnamon, vanilla and ginger, it is to be especially enjoyed by the fire during the Autumn and Winter months.

By the end of 2022, it is hoped that ANON will have created a mini spirit collection of British favourites (English Garden – believed to be the first non-alcoholic Pimms alternative, as well as a dry and a pink juniper - yes you guessed it, gins), that can be enjoyed by everyone including the designated driver, mum-to-be and those that simply would like to reduce their alcohol intake, be it for a healthier lifestyle, to take part in dry January or, simply because they are wanting an alternative for when they simply don’t fancy the taste or the effects of alcohol, so… watch this space!

NOTES TO EDITORS
